Coal City University Essay Competition 2022 (APPLY HERE)
Nigerian secondary school students can submit their essays to Coal City University (CCU), a private, non-profit university, as part of its 2022 essay contest.
This annual essay contest aims to inform young people about current global challenges. In support of sustainable development, it also encourages young people’s initiative and talent for unique thinking. The essay contest also aims to inform society about young people’s perspectives and raise awareness that it is society as a whole that must address these issues.

Eligibility Criteria
- All Senior Secondary School students (SS1-SS3) are eligible to submit an essay.
- The essay word count should be between 700-1000, and the title and name of the author must be written at the top of the page. (You do not need to include the name of the essay in the word count limit).
- There are no particular rules regarding formatting (font style, size, line space, etc.).
- The essay must be unique; submissions that contain plagiarism will be rejected.
- Co-authored essays will not be acceptable.
- Copyright of the essays entered will be assigned to the organizer.
Benefits
The following awards would be given to shortlisted students as follows:
1st Prize: Certificate, a prize of 500,000 Naira Cash or a Full tuition fee scholarship in Coal City University for any course of your choice.
2nd Prize:Â Certificate, a prize of 250,000 naira
3rd Prize:Â Certificate, a prize of 150,000 naira
Each shortlisted student will receive a certificate and a consolation prize.
Please Note:
- All the winners will come to Coal City University, Enugu for an award ceremony.
- All winners will be announced on July 22, 2022, via the website ccu.edu.ng. They will also receive an SMS.

- “What are you doing to help save the Climate”?
- “What can you do to help save the climate”?
- Are you doing anything consciously to make a difference?
