UBA Foundation National Essay Competition 2021 Form Is Out – APPLY NOW
The National Essay Competition (NEC) is part of the UBA Foundation’s educational project to promote education and healthy intellectual competition among secondary school students in Nigeria and across Africa.
We are here to inform you that the registration portal for the UBA Foundation’s 2021 National Essay Competition 2021 is now open. Here you will see selection criteria, eligibility and how to apply, and other relevant information.
UBA Essay Competition Selection Criteria and Eligibility
Following are the requirements for submitting your application for the UBA essay competition:
- The candidate must be Secondary School Student.
- Must submit a handwritten essay (750 words MAX).
- Candidates must submit a passport photograph during the application.
- Must submit a copy of a birth certificate, National ID, or passport.
Selection procedure:
- The competition’s entries will be reviewed by a special team of judges of professors from reputable Nigerian Universities, who will select 12 essays for further evaluation.
- Following that, the 12 finalists will compete in the second phase of the competition, they will write a second supervised essay from which the three best essays will be shortlisted as the overall winners from the 12 finalists who competed in the first round.
UBA Foundation National Essay Competition Prizes and Awards
- The first prize for the UBA National Essay Competition is an N3 million educational grant.
- The second and third prizes are N2.5 million and N2 million in educational grants to any African University of their choice.

To submit your essay for UBA 2021 essay competition, follow the guideline below:

- Applicant must submit all their contact information (Name, Age, School, Address of school, Telephone Number, Residential Address, and Email Address).
- Applicants must attach photocopies of their original birth certificates or international passport data page.
